The Immigrants

I found the audio, the narrative and how it is presented, very annoying. Switching between readers as characters come and go in the story introduces attempts to bring the story alive but in fact is just a reflection of the authors inability to master the art of painting a picture with words. The story line might be OK, I don't know. I got half way through it and gave up listening as the characters and their betrayal by different readers just got to much to be enjoyable. An attempt was made, I assume, to bring the book to life like a play... all I can say it didn't work. The character of Dan was read by someone whose interpretation of him, how he talked, his accent and forever angry persona detracted from the whole thing. I wish I hadn't spent money on this piece of amateur writing and production.
