Synopsis

In this AUDIOBOOK A. W. Pink examines the following aspects of the Holy Spirit’s work in salvation: regenerating, quickening, enlightening, convicting, comforting, drawing, and working faith. His biblical insights regarding the first (regeneration) and the last (faith) are particularly valuable today because these two areas are frequently misunderstood by modern evangelicals. Regeneration, for example, is believed by many to be the result of one’s “decision for Christ.” But as Pink shows, regeneration precedes repentance and belief. Likewise—and also unlike what many believe today—faith is not something that can be produced at will, but is a gift of God given by the Holy Spirit. It is sometimes lamented that the Holy Spirit is the “forgotten” member of the Trinity; but forgotten or not, it is always profitable to study the Spirit’s work, especially His role in salvation as presented in this wonderful Audiobook.

About Arthur W. Pink

Arthur Walkington Pink (1886–1952) was one of the most influential evangelical authors in the second half of the twentieth century. He was born in England and converted in his twenties. He served as a pastor in Colorado and other locations until he decided to concentrate on writing and speaking at conferences. The next year he started a monthly magazine, Studies in the Scriptures, which he edited until his death. His writing focused on biblical living and sparked a revival of expository preaching. His works include The Attributes of God, The Patience of God, and The Satisfaction of Christ, among many others.

There is a Christian hip song with the line “you’ll get everything but the kitchen sink from AW Pink.” That is def the case here. This book is composed of short chapters. They were originally small articles. Yet they raise issues and resolutions from a biblical perspective in reference to the Holy S......more

Arthur W. Pink never fails to impress and this book is no different. One of the best devotional commentators of the 20th century, he avoids the antiseptic and clinical approach adopted by so many authors who exegete but seem to be deathly afraid of application. Not so Pink. This book is a must read......more

Deepened my faith and prayer life I started to read this out of a desire to know more about the person of the Holy Spirit. I never knew how necessary He is to my walk of faith! I learned that He is worthy of worship and praise as much as God the Father and Jesus Christ the Son. A.W. Pink explains it......more

A Thorough Treatment of the Holy Spirit Books on the Holy Spirit are a dime a dozen. Pink's book examines the Holy Spirit through the lens of Scripture, which is not often done today. Pink takes pains to remind the reader that the Holy Spirit is coequal with the Father and Son and worthy of worship.......more

The book has really changed my understanding about the Holy Spirit and Christianity for ever, in such a profound way. But one star less for the kindle version, there are so many missing and unfinished sentences in almost every chapter, cutting in half, really needs some update on the digital editing......more
