A book I received under the auspices of Amazon Vine, The Domino Men is a fantasy/horror novel by Jonathan Barnes. There have been a spate of what some have labeled "The New Weird" in fantasy and horror in the last few years. Authors like Jeff Vandermeer, China Mieville, and M John Harrison are the ma......more

Jonathan Barnes second novel is a delightful melange of Douglas Adams and HP Lovecraft; or perhaps a decidedly British parallel of Tim Powers at his most whimsical. The mysterious opening scene hooks you fast and the Barnes reels you into the bizarre world with great characters and gruesomely clever......more
