This audiobook includes a wonderful dedication to the long-time narrator of the series, Lorelei King, read by the author.

Grim Reaper Charley Davidson is back in the ninth installment of Darynda Jones' New York Times bestselling paranormal series, The Dirt on Ninth Grave

In a small village in New York Charley Davidson is living as Jane Doe, a girl with no memory of who she is or where she came from. So when she is working at a diner and slowly begins to realize she can see dead people, she's more than a little taken aback. Stranger still are the people entering her life. They seem to know things about her. Things they hide with lies and half-truths. Soon, she senses something far darker. A force that wants to cause her harm, she is sure of it. Her saving grace comes in the form of a new friend she feels she can confide in and the fry cook, a devastatingly handsome man whose smile is breathtaking and touch is scalding. He stays close, and she almost feels safe with him around.

But no one can outrun their past, and the more lies that swirl around her-even from her new and trusted friends-the more disoriented she becomes, until she is confronted by a man who claims to have been sent to kill her. Sent by the darkest force in the universe. A force that absolutely will not stop until she is dead. Thankfully, she has a Rottweiler. But that doesn't help in her quest to find her identity and recover what she's lost. That will take all her courage and a touch of the power she feels flowing like electricity through her veins. She almost feels sorry for him. The devil in blue jeans. The disarming fry cook who lies with every breath he takes. She will get to the bottom of what he knows if it kills her. Or him. Either way.

About Darynda Jones

Even as a young child, NY Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Darynda Jones loved writing. She grew up spinning tales of dashing damsels and heroes in distress for any unfortunate soul who happened by. After graduating from school, she married her “rock star” and had two beautiful sons. Her oldest son was born deaf, so when he was 5 years old, she moved to Albuquerque to enroll him into a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program. She decided to go back to school while in Albuquerque and ended up graduating Summa cum Laude from the University of New Mexico with a degree in Sign Language Interpreting. Darynda moved back to her home town and worked 3 jobs mostly teaching at a local college and interpreting pretty much everywhere. Little by little her desire to write kept growing inside her, so after several turned down attempts, she won numerous awards for her work, including a prestigious RITA, a Golden Heart, and a Daphne du Maurier. She currently has two series with St. Martin's Press, the Charley Davidson Series and the Darklight Trilogy. Darynda currently lives in New Mexico, with her husband of almost 30 years and two beautiful sons, the Mighty, Mighty Jones Boys.

Reviewed by: Rabid Reads. The pacing of this series has been gaining speed with every new installment, so although I did find myself wishing that Darynda Jones would just get on with it already, overall I enjoyed the breather that THE DIRT ON NINTH GRADE provided. Also, what reader hasn’t wished for......more

Oh, she's back, baby! Kind of... well, she doesn't know who she is, or what she is, but she is still Charley to the core. "you're not what you think you are," he said. "Yes, I know what I am." "You - you do?" "I'm a time traveler...What are you?" "I'm part of an interdimensional time investigation uni......more

If there's one thing Darynda Jones knows better than pretty much everyone else, it's how to keep a series fresh and exciting through more pages than one can count. Charley Davidson never gets old (no, really, she's more or less immortal), she never gets tired (supernatural beinh, duh), and she n......more
