I wouldn't recommend this if you know nothing about the Culper Ring. This was more of a speedrun through the history; so, it's a great review for someone wanting to refamiliarize themselves with the information. Note: I listened to the audiobook, so I have no idea if this book contains a bibliography......more

Interesting book. I live out by Setauket Long Island. There are markers for Washington's Spy Trail everywhere. Although I enjoyed it, the author left alot out, especially about Anna Strong Smith and how she used to hand clothes on the line to let them know it was safe. 3.5 stars. It was hard to build a spy ring from scratch and the first attempts didn't work so well. Then the Culper Ring was started and it did get the information needed.
