Prospective clients had come to see him about many things but never a matter as seemingly silly as this. He didn’t even have time to tell Harrington Faulkner that he wouldn’t take the case before a process server slapped on a summons and complaint for $100,000.During the evening, a golddigger got Faulkner to write a check for $5,000. Before two days had passed there was a murder. And both Perry Mason and Della Street were in danger of being convicted as accessories.
