Synopsis

A tale of love, loss and laughter, this life-affirming memoir describes one woman's determination to survive unbearable grief ‒ and get back into running ‒ one step at a time.Lisa didn't think anything could be more devastating than the death of her beloved husband Graham. But then she lost her sister and father too ‒ all in the space of 17 months. Feeling utterly broken, Lisa turned to an old friend that had already helped her through many tough times: running. But before long a debilitating injury meant she lost her running mojo, too.Lisa sets out to rekindle her love affair with running, aiming to complete her 109th marathon in Graham's honour. Can running take her from heartache to hope as she builds her new life by the sea? Still Running After All These Tears is a meditation on the redemptive power of running, what makes a good death and, most importantly, how to lead a joyous, meaningful life.

About Lisa Jackson

Born in Oregon in 1952, American author, Lisa Jackson, began her career in 1983 with her book, The Twist of Fate, and is still presently writing. She is a number one author on The New York Times bestselling list, writing more than 85 published novels. (She also uses the pseudonym of Susan Lynn Crose.)

As with many authors, Lisa began writing when she was a struggling mother, out of necessity to put food on the table. At that time, she probably did not realize that she would end up with a writing career putting her neck deep in romantic, murder mysteries. Lisa is best known for taking her readers to "the edge of sanity...... and back". Dangerous secrets, deadly passions, lies, clues, personal relationships.......all intertwined to create the terror and madness that can exist in the world.

Lisa is now a typical spoiling grandmother who loves her grandchildren and her little pug dog named Jackie-O-No. She loves old rock and roll, pop, and new country music. She leads a pretty quiet, fulfilling life in her native state of Oregon.......time with family, walks with her sister (also an author), coffee, crossword puzzles and great TV.

Telling her real life stories with clever observation, clear advice and humour. This book carries her same style and passion, despite the painful revelations.......more

What an inspiring, uplifting book despite the underlying tragedy and deep sadness, Lisa's positive energy, resilience and deep love for her husband and family shine through. I confess to not like running or reading any cancer stories but I knew Lisa from school, so when a friend sent it to me I felt......more

I just finished reading this book and couldn't put it down despite sobbing my way through most of it. Lisa's writing about her devastating losses made me appreciate life and those I love that bit more, when we all tend to get drawn into living our daily lives. I started reading Lisa's column in Runn......more
