Synopsis

Lieutenant Jonathan Stride knows his partner, Maggie Bei, is in trouble when she reports a deadly crime on a bitter winter night. She’s obviously hiding a terrible secret, and her silence only feeds suspicion. But Maggie isn’t the only one keeping secrets in Duluth. A seductive young woman has disappeared, leaving behind a stash of lurid fantasies and a cryptic message: “I know who it is.”Following a twisted trail, Stride uncovers a sordid web of violence and voyeurism that someone is willing to kill for in order to keep hidden. His lover, Serena Dial, a homicide cop turned private investigator, is chasing a blackmailer who knows all the city’s dirty secrets, even Maggie’s. But as Stride and Serena hunt for a killer, a predator is hunting them, with a terrifying plan for revenge.

Chances are if you're reading this you've read Brian Freeman's previous two Jonathan Stride novels. If you haven't I just have to ask you, WHY NOT??? As with Immoral and Stripped, Freeman is a master of the page turning psychological thriller. As usual I won't go into plot too much because it's been......more

Cuarto libro que leo de este autor y sigue encandilándome, me gusta mucho su forma de contar las historias, así como los giros argumentales que les da sus libros. En este sigue manteniendo el nivel de los anteriores. Suspense de calidad.......more

Freeman hit his stride (LOL! No pun intended!) in book 2: Stripped, and somehow managed to trip in book 3: Stalked. This is a bit long, but I don't think I give anything away. My issues. These are items that pulled me out of the book - a phrase, a comment, whatever. I don't like to be pulled out of......more

Another good one in the Stride series by Freeman. In this one, Stride has returned to Duluth, Minnesota, after his stint in Vegas as told in the prior book in the series, Stripped. He has his old job back on the force as police lieutenant and his girl friend, Serena, has joined him in Duluth working......more

This is the 3rd in the Jonathan Stride series... I was much better than the 2nd book, but not as good as the first. My main complaint is Stride's girlfriend Serena. I just don't 'see' them together, and I really get very tired when an author feels that he or she feels it is more interesting if there......more

Quotes

“Brian Freeman is, quite simply, a first-rate storyteller. Stalked is scary, fast-paced, and refreshingly well written. The characters are so sharply drawn and interesting, we can’t wait to meet the next one in the story. Freeman has another winner.”

“Chilling, atmospheric…A strong narrative crammed with twists and studded with sex and violence; a mysterious, even mystical, sense of place; and a well-crafted set of characters and relationships make this one of Freeman’s stronger crime thrillers.”

“ The final conflict on the frozen waters of a Minnesota lake is nothing short of inspired-- a perfect read for a freezing February night! ”

“A perfect blend of psychological suspense and crime fiction.”

“Chilling and heart-thumping.”
