Synopsis

Gabriel has always had his brothers to rely on, especially his twin, Nick. But when an arsonist starts wreaking havoc on their town, all the signs point to Gabriel . . . except he's not doing it.

And no one seems to believe him. No one but a shy sophomore named Layne, a brainiac who dresses in turtlenecks and jeans . . . and keeps him totally off balance. Layne understands family problems, and she understands secrets. She has a few of her own.

Gabriel can't let her guess about his brothers, his abilities, and the danger that's right at his heels. But there are some risks he can't help taking.

About Brigid Kemmerer

Brigid Kemmerer is the author of the Elemental series. She started writing in high school, and her first real "novel" was about four vampire brothers causing a ruckus in the suburbs. Most writers enjoy peace and quiet while writing, but she prefers pandemonium. A good thing, considering she has three boys in the house, ranging in age from an infant to a teenager. Brigid lives in Maryland.

3.5 Maybe? I really enjoyed the ending so I'm rounding up. I spent a good portion of this book floating somewhere between wanting to punch Gabriel Merrick in the face and wanting to hug him and bake him cookies. Our pyromaniac always has the ability to bring up the most strong feelings due to his pe......more

Brigid Kemmerer is one of those rare few authors who know exactly what their readers want. She surprised us with Storm by giving us a solid world filled with complex characters and a plot that kept us on the edge of our seats, but in Spark, she took this a step (or three) further and showed a profou......more
