A powerful hit man, Gideon is the master of the game in a jet-setting world dominated by money, women, and violence. Living off the grid, making love on the run, he makes his living as a contract killer by enacting the revenge of the brokenhearted…for a price. One woman taught him to kill, another motivates him to succeed in the business of revenge. If he can amass a million dollars, the woman he desires has promised to run away with him. For her sake, Gideon takes a high-profile job that earns him dangerous enemies, and hops a plane to London hoping to escape the aftermath. On the plane he meets two mysterious women—have they been sent to bring him down? Have his past transgressions caught up with him at last? Or will one of these strangers help him choose a life of love over a life of violence? In this underworld of grifters and killers, brokenhearted squares and streetwalkers, loyal fans will spot some familiar faces from Dickey’s previous books. I just finished reading this book today. I was literally glued to the book after I read the first few chapters. The end had me on the edge of my seat BUT keep in mind there is a part two to this book. Walking with Enemies is what I am reading now. It starts where this book left off. The only reason why I rated this book four stars instead of five is because just as it started getting REAL interesting, it ended. It's still a good read & I'd suggest it to anyone. Eric Jerome Dickey is truly a great author.

Okay, so let me break this down right quick if I can, Gideon is a hitman, but that's not his real name. He's on the hunt for a woman named Thelma, but there's more to her that you think. At the beginning of the book you are with Gideon as he takes on a job killing a preacher, and then we follow Gide......more

Guess Who's Back?!? My boy EJD is back, and so am I! Keeping it real, I took an Eric Jerome Dickey hiatus. For years he held a special spot on my shelf as my favorite author, hands down. Then it happened...his books just weren't doing it for me anymore. Call in change, call it growth, falling off, c......more

I started reading his books when my high school teacher began bragging about this guy years ago. This was his last book I read. I was really into it. I'm not going to lie, I didn't buy it. I was a broke college student at the time, but I was so addicted I went to Barnes and Noble weekly to finish it......more
