Egads, reading Burns makes Shakespeare look like a stroll in the park. So many unknown words! I had to have a dictionary by my side at all times and, even if I got the hang of most words 'cause they were constantly repeated, for if I put the book down for a day or so I would go back to square one. I absolutely love Robert Burns. This is a good, but very spare collection. And the notes were weird, very lavish, but for some poems not very helpful. There are a lot of detail gone into things that the average reader wouldn't be likely to find very interesting. But still, this is a good introductio......more
