Synopsis

One by one, he’ll stalk them, then he’ll squeeze the trigger, savoring the way each lifeless body crumples to the reddening snow. One down already. And then there were five…When Detective Regan Pescoli drives to Sheriff Dan Grayson’s house to present her resignation, she’s prepared for an argument. She’s not expecting to find Grayson shot and bleeding out on the frozen ground. The assassination attempt leaves Grayson barely clinging to life and the entire police department of Grizzly Falls, Montana, in shock. Every lawman has enemies, but something about this shooting suggests more than a simple grudge. Now Pescoli feels compelled to stay on the force until the case is solved. She and Detective Selena Alvarez—who is torn between a new relationship and her loyalty to Grayson—work to whittle down the list of suspects. But the deeper they go, the more personal and dangerous the case becomes. Then a prominent judge’s body is found and the killer sends a sinister warning to the press: “Who’s Next?” Headstrong and eager for justice, Pescoli has no intention of waiting around to find out. She’ll track the scant clues on her own if she has to, but she has no idea where her search will lead.…Two down, four to go…and now Alvarez and Pescoli are at the top of a killer’s list. And when hunter meets prey, both must be willing to kill—and ready to die.…

About Lisa Jackson

Born in Oregon in 1952, American author, Lisa Jackson, began her career in 1983 with her book, The Twist of Fate, and is still presently writing. She is a number one author on The New York Times bestselling list, writing more than 85 published novels. (She also uses the pseudonym of Susan Lynn Crose.)

As with many authors, Lisa began writing when she was a struggling mother, out of necessity to put food on the table. At that time, she probably did not realize that she would end up with a writing career putting her neck deep in romantic, murder mysteries. Lisa is best known for taking her readers to "the edge of sanity...... and back". Dangerous secrets, deadly passions, lies, clues, personal relationships.......all intertwined to create the terror and madness that can exist in the world.

Lisa is now a typical spoiling grandmother who loves her grandchildren and her little pug dog named Jackie-O-No. She loves old rock and roll, pop, and new country music. She leads a pretty quiet, fulfilling life in her native state of Oregon.......time with family, walks with her sister (also an author), coffee, crossword puzzles and great TV.

This is book 5 in the "to die" series. This series is one of my favorites and there is only one more to go! If Lisa Jackson does not write another Selena Alvarez/Regan Pescoli book, I will be very sad.......more

Bilenler bilir.

Good read and not an easy case to solve! Had me guessing who the serial was until over 3 quarters through the book - lots of red herrings tossed in the way. Personal issues abound for Regan Pescoli, but finally she starts to take charge of her personal life. Alvarez seems to be opening up more and s......more

This is book 5 of Lisa Jackson's 'to die' series. Although not as good as the first 2 in the series it is still a great mystery. I look forward to reading book 6 Deserves to Die next month and finishing out the series. In this book our serial killer is targeting people closer to home for Alvarez and......more

Highly enjoyable mystery - but it is book 5 of the Montana ready to die series so you'll want to read the previous 4 to understand the relationships although Jackson does a good job giving back story so if you're new, you can figure things out fairly easily. In a nutshell - a judge has been assassin......more
