Synopsis

Want to know what Vietnam was really like? 4.6 Stars on 181 Amazon Reviews. 5.0 Stars on 5 Audible Reviews. 10 hours and 15 minutes.Real stories told by real people, in their own words, 100 veterans, men and women, caught up in an all too real war. From the Delta to the DMZ, come walk in their boots. If you were there, you understand. If you weren't, grab a copy. They're like Doritos. Try a few and you won't be able to stop. The Vietnam War dominated my generation and affected many lives in many different ways. As we all knew, Vietnam was all about luck, good or bad. And there were hundreds of different wars depending on where you were, the year you were there, your service, branch, unit, rank, job, and race. Whether we were truck drivers, helicopter pilots, infantryman, clerk typists, medics, engineers, MPs, sailors out on Yankee station, artillerymen, or cooks, from 1956 to 1976 from the Delta to the DMZ, these stories tell who we were, the jobs we did, our memories of that time and place, how it changed us, and what we did after we came home. Some of us were drafted. Some enlisted. Some became war heroes, intentional or not, but most of us were just trying to survive. William F Brown is the author of ten action adventure and suspense novels, including the highly successful Bob Burke series, and Our Vietnam Wars, Volumes 1 thru 4, personal stories of the veterans who served there. His mystery and suspense novels include 'The Undertaker,' 'Amongst My Enemies,' 'Thursday at Noon,' 'Aim True, My Brothers,' 'Winner Lose All,' and 'The Cold War Trilogy,' as well as Burke's War, Burke's Gamble, Burke's Revenge, Burke’s Samovar, Burke’s Mandarin, and soon, Burke’s Rescue. All are available on e-book, paperback, hardback, and audiobook. You can them check them out on my web site and enjoy!

I knew men who were in the WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, real soldiers and not necessarely heros, and these men where willing to tell their stories, but for some, it was a big task. I wonder if you knew that up to 40,000 Canadians went to Vietnam. Do you know it was against the......more

I enjoy these stories very much, and have read three volumes by William Brown (the fourth is in the/my hopper). Good on him to have made the effort to get these stories recorded (I know he does it for financial gain too . . . but he is a Vietnam vet as well). The vets wrote their own stories, so to......more

An excellent book I read somewhere that you can't place too much reliance on the memories of the participants in war. As a veteran myself I've always thought that the statement is utter rubbish. My first war was 40 years ago and I can still remember it extremely well. The history passed on by the con......more

Thanks for helping us! I have read all three books. I have not spoken much about my service and reading these books has been a great help to me.I was not aware that so many Vets suffered effects of Agent Orange. I have not read a book in three years and can't watch War movies. I plan to contact the V......more
