Synopsis

Detective Eve Dallas tracks the cunning, cold-blooded killer of a doctor and his son in this novel in the #1 New York Times bestselling In Death series. A pioneer of modern reconstructive and cosmetic surgery, Dr. Wilfred B. Icove, is found dead in his office—murdered in a chillingly efficient manner: one swift stab to the heart. Struck by the immaculate condition of the crime scene, Dallas suspects a professional killing. Security disks show a stunningly beautiful woman calmly entering and leaving the building—the doctor’s final appointment.Known as “Dr. Perfect,” the saintly Icove devoted his life to his family and his work. His record is clean. Too clean for Dallas. She knows he was hiding something and suspects that his son—and successor—knows what it is. Then, like father, like son, the young Dr. Icove is killed…with the same deadly precision. But who is the mystery woman—and what was her relationship with the good doctors? While her husband, Roarke, works behind the scenes, Dallas follows her darkest instincts into the Icoves’ pasts. What she discovers are men driven to create perfection—playing fast and loose with the laws of nature, the limits of science, and the morals of humanity…

About J. D. Robb

Boonsboro, Maryland resident famous author, Nora Roberts has been writing suspense novels very successfully, under the pseudonym of J. D. Robb since 1995. Her first In Death series book was Naked in Death, to which readers were immediately attracted to the main character…Eve Dallas, and her love interest…Roarke.

Since the book in the series in 1999, Loyalty in Death, every Robb novel has been included on the New York Times bestsellers list. Many of Robb's fans were suspicious that Roberts and Robb might be one in the same, and those suspicions were verified by her twelfth book in 2001.

Some of Robb's biggest fans are other famous mystery writers, such as the likes of Stephen King and Jonathan Kellerman......pretty good critics! The In Death series will continue as long as Robb wants to keep writing the novels. She has said that if Eve has a child in a novel, that will be a signal that the series is concluding.

This case was interesting but so heartbreaking especially the......more

There are so many stories of men trying to build the "perfect woman" that you have to question the lack of insight and self-awareness of these guys. The perfect-created woman of the 1980's. The perfect-created women of the 1990's 1970's & 2000's (the Stepford Wives) At least she gets to kill people... I......more

Since the beginning of the series I was expecting this issue to come up! And here it is!!! It’s really creepy to think that this leitmotiv is a very old one! And here it was explored very well! Still, apart from this very thorny idea, there’re, as always some really funny moments! Which is why I love......more

5 Can't Go Wrong With In Death STars This book was completely "out there" even for a futuristic series like In Death but it was so freaking exciting that it didn't matter. Still waiting for Eve to get over her issues though!......more
