Synopsis

A senseless murder. A sizzling adventure. Clare Westbrook is a survivor who built her law practice from sheer determination -- and an unexpected inheritance. Now Clare, carrying her lover Tony Sonterra's child, has taken the biggest risk of all: saying "yes" to his marriage proposal and finally burying her lifelong commitment phobia. So why is fear running through her veins and haunting her dreams? Sonterra is fired up to leave Phoenix for small-town Arizona, to replace the town's missing police chief and target a lethal desert crime ring. Clare's willing to stand by her man, but her fiancE won't be the only one flirting with danger on the job: as a special investigator for the D.A.'s office, Clare is plunged into a race to find a missing child whose mother was murdered -- a hot case that puts Clare's safety, and that of her unborn child, on the edge. For in a place where secrets have nowhere to hide, the promise of Clare's bright future could vanish in the blink of an eye....

I really loved this series by Miller. The characters are great and well developed. Lots of suspense and action, along with plenty of romance! Great book, highly, highly recommend this series. This book is the last one of the 3 books in this series.

The characters grow on you and you can't help liking them so much. I was shocked about Loretta and Kip. Did not see that coming. Heartbroken for Eddie but......more

An entertaining romantic supsense that will appeal to fans of Linda Howard & the like. This would appear to be the third in a series featuring Clare Westbrook & Tony Sonterra although if you haven't read the previous books - like me! - it doesn't matter. Though for me I do like the banter & build up......more

Over the past few years I've must've overlooked reading this book. But I wish I hadn't. With no current books at hand, I came across this one and am glad I did. Normally when I write a book review, I mention something related to the story content. In this mystery, there's no need to do any of that. T......more

Didn't disappoint This book is another book worth reading. I wish the author gave the secondary characters, i.e. Loretta, more closure, after all the secondary characters played a significant part in the story line. Other than that very good book.......more
