About The Author

Randy Wayne White is the author of the Doc Ford novels, the Hannah Smith novels, and four collections of nonfiction. He lives on Sanibel Island, Florida, where he was a light-tackle fishing guide for many years, and spends much of his free time windsurfing, playing baseball, and hanging out at Doc Ford's Rum Bar & Grille.George Guidall is one of the foremost narrators in the audiobook industry, having recorded more than 800 unabridged novels. His 40-year career includes leading roles on- and off-Broadway and numerous appearances in film and television. He has won an Obie Award for best performance.

The fifth Doc Ford novel. Doc returns to Cuba to help Tomlinson and ends up involved with a group of revolutionaries just as morally stunted as Castro and Guevara. Tomlinson's reaction to the reality of communism makes for some comic moments.......more

I like these Doc Ford books because they provide little mental vacations to Florida's Gulf Coast. This one is mostly set in Cuba, so it wasn't quite as satisfying. The characters and action are still appealing, and the dialogue still crackles, but I missed Florida.......more
