Synopsis

Viví grew up hungry—for stability, for belonging, and for a sense of herself. In the chaos of her Canadian childhood, she found her unlikely guide in Scarlett O’Hara: the fierce, flawed heroine of Gone with the Wind. With Scarlett’s voice echoing through her imagination, Viví learned to navigate family storms, heartbreak, and the relentless search for home.
In No Shame in a Scarlett Heart, Viví weaves memoir with the bold spirit of her literary muse, exploring how the heroines we cherish can help us survive, adapt, and ultimately thrive. Through imagined conversations and real-life reckonings, Viví discovers that there’s no shame in wanting more—and no substitute for the courage to claim it.
For every reader who’s ever turned to fiction for hope, this memoir is a tribute to resilience, reinvention, and the power of a Scarlett heart.

The narrator may not have a Canadian accent, but she brings the story to life beautifully. I loved the sequence of events and the way the story explores the shift in consciousness toward being fully present. Its message feels especially relevant today, when so many people let the past shape their lives. The clever weaving in of Scarlett adds another thoughtful layer. I enjoyed this book and am happy to know there are people like this authoress sharing this world with me, I hope you enjoy it as well and will be inspired to let go of what no longer serves you or the world we all share.
