Synopsis

“A totally new and original work that stretches his talents to their fullest . . . welcome back, champ!”—The Detroit News

In the twenty-third century pioneers have escaped the crowded earth for life in self-sustaining orbital colonies. One of the colonies, Rotor, has broken away from the solar system to create its own renegade utopia around an unknown red star two light-years from Earth: a star named Nemesis.

Now a fifteen-year-old Rotorian girl has learned of the dire threat that nemesis poses to Earth’s people—but she is prevented from warning them. Soon she will realize that Nemesis endangers Rotor as well.  And so it will be up to her alone to save both Earth and Rotor as—drawn inexorably by Nemesis, the death star—they hurtle toward certain disaster.

Isaac Asimov began his Foundation series at the age of 21, not realizing that it would one day be considered a cornerstone of science fiction. During his legendary career, Asimov penned over 470 books on subjects ranging from science to Shakespeare to history, though he was most loved for his award-winning science fiction sagas, which include the Robot, Empire, and Foundation series. Named a Grand Master of Science Fiction by the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America, Asimov entertained and educated readers of all ages for close to five decades. He died, at the age 72, in April 1992.Scott Brick has recorded bestsellers and Pulitzer Prize winners in every conceivable category, over 800 titles since his debut in 1999. A Grammy nominee, Scott has won over fifty Earphones Awards, five Audie Awards, and has twice been named Publishers Weekly’s Narrator of the Year. After AudioFile Magazine proclaimed him a Golden Voice, his work was thereafter profiled in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, and Entertainment Weekly. In 2015, Scott began teaching the nation’s first fully-accredited university course devoted solely to audiobook narration at UCLA.

Nemesis was one of Asimov's last solo science fiction novels. Despite the curious fact that Doubleday published it under their Foundation imprint, it is not a part of his Robot/Foundation future history chronology, though he includes a brief introduction in which he waffles a bit by saying that he c......more

Interestingly this is the first book of Asimov's I've read and I wasn't disappointed - he turns out to be every bit the great writer I always hear he is. The book is beautiful, I love how the writing style is practical enough to keep you in it's grip, but also poetic enough to give you the chance to......more
