About The Author

Otis Adelbert Kline (July 1, 1891 – October 24, 1946) born in Chicago, Illinois, USA, was a songwriter[1], an adventure novelist and literary agent during the pulp era. Much of his work first appeared in the magazine Weird Tales. Kline was an amateur orientalist and a student of Arabic, like his friend and sometime collaborator, E. Hoffmann Price.

The legend goes that Otis Aldebert Kline had a bit of a rivalry going on with Edgar Rice Burroughs and made his own Martian saga in response to the Barsoom series. A fun-ish read from 1930, in the vein of Edgar Rice Burroughs. You need to suspend a lot of disbelief for this one, and I wasn't quite up to it. I'm OK with people living on Mars, I don't mind alien races evolving on Mars, but I had a real hard time with Kline's descriptions of conditions on the Moo......more
