Carole Engle Avriett grew up in a family steeped in military history, often hearing her uncle—chief mechanic for Gen. Claire Lee Chenault’s Flying Tigers—insist “Ain’t no fake stories ever gonna outdo the real ones.” Convinced that he was right, she pursued a career as an editor with Southern Living Magazine for nearly fifteen years, recording real-life stories, before becoming an author who specializes in the intersection of true-life narratives and military history.
Qarie Marshall has narrated over thirty series for the Discovery Channel and the BBC. He has also been a guest voice on Comedy Central's Drawn Together and has recorded BBC radio plays, the in-flight programming for Virgin Atlantic Airlines, over eighty video games for the PlayStation and Xbox, and numerous audiobooks. In 2007, he was made an Associate Artist of The Purple Rose Theatre.
