Synopsis

Personal and professional stakes are raised as a counterterrorism expert and a terrorist assassin race against time and their enemies, toward a second chance at love. No matter how far and how fast you run, the truth is never far behind. CIA counterterrorism expert Manuel Ramirez has spent the last three years looking for the woman he loves, who disappeared without a trace while on a postgraduate trip to France. Then, as suddenly as she disappeared, Jules Trehan turns up in a small-town Colorado hospital bed, injured in an explosion that killed her parents. Manny is shocked by the change in the woman he once knew. Kidnapped by a shadowy organization, Jules has been forced to become the very thing he's pledged his life to defeat-a terrorist assassin. Knowing her testimony will finally bring down the organization, Manny races to get her to Washington in one piece. But just when there's a glimmer of hope of overcoming her past, Jules must pull off one last job or Manny's life will be forfeit. It's a mission she must complete ... even if it means betraying the only man she has ever loved.

Author Bio

Maya Banks is an American author, writing erotica romance, romantic suspense, contemporary romance, and Scottish historical romance. No Place to Run brought the New York Times best seller list award and was followed by a trilogy of erotica romance novels entitled Sweets. Some critics accused Sweets to be a knock off version of Fifty Shades of Grey, but Sweets was published several years prior to that publication. She has written over 50 novels.

When asked once, she said the most rewarding part of writing for her was meeting so many wonderful readers, who love the books in the romance genre as much as she did.

On being asked about her approach, Banks has said......"I approach writing the way I approach reading, because I am a voracious reader, so I write what I love to read".
