Synopsis

Soundings and Choc Lit present the audio edition of It’s Only Rock and Roll. Being the girlfriend of a rock star isn’t all glitz and glamour – at least that’s what Izzy Grant has found since she started dating Seth Roberts of Scarlet Gryphon fame; it’s actually a lot of waiting and wondering and worrying as Seth travels the world whilst she’s stuck in London. Can she ever rely on Mr Cool to settle down? But rock gods get insecure too, and whilst Seth is jetting off to far-flung locations to perform sold-out shows, he worries that Izzy will opt for a more ordinary life. Plus, he could do with some support when a certain entitled rock star girlfriend gets too big for her Jimmy Choos and threatens to break up the band. There is a solution, but are either of them willing to take the plunge?

Jo Wood is the type of woman you wish you were friends with. Her light, bubbly personality shines through and makes this such a fun, enjoyable read. How boring!!! Other than the train wreck they made of their lives at times, they are sheltered, indulged idiots!! I love a good train wreck, so those passages were entertaining. The end- couldn't be more typical. Kids grow up, she starts a little homey business based on new interests, the attention......more

Unlike some rock biographies that only hint at or gloss over past bad behavior and dirty deeds, Jo Wood names the names and what was going on where and when. My first thought was that Ronnie Wood (with a hefty contribution from Keith Richards) would have to fight this one and offer his ex a big buc......more

I read a lot of memoirs and quite a few on the rock and roll lifestyle and it will never not shock me. So much cocaine. I also learned what freebasing is, so that's cool. Ending every chapter with "and then my life changed forever" or "then the bomb dropped" did get old, but it was a fun and fascina......more
