Synopsis

From TE Carter comes a highly-anticipated audiobook debut. I Stop Somewhere promises to keep listeners hooked from the very first track.

Ellie Frias disappeared long before she vanished.

Tormented throughout middle school, Ellie begins her freshman year with a new look: she doesn’t need to be popular; she just needs to blend in with the wallpaper.

But when the unthinkable happens, Ellie finds herself trapped after a brutal assault. She wasn't the first victim, and now she watches it happen again and again. She tries to hold on to her happier memories in order to get past the cold days, waiting for someone to find her.

The problem is, no one searches for a girl they never noticed in the first place.

TE Carter’s stirring and visceral debut audiobook not only discusses and dismantles rape culture, but it also reminds listeners what it means to be human.

About TE Carter

TE Carter was born in New England and has lived in New England for pretty much her entire life. Throughout her career, she’s done a lot of things, although her passion has always been writing. When she’s not writing, she can generally be found reading classic literature, obsessing over Game of Thrones (she’s one hundred percent Team Lannister), playing Xbox, organizing her comic collection, or binge watching baking competitions. She continues to live in New England with her husband and their two cats. I Stop Somewhere is her first novel.

Goodreads review by Elle

The first 38% of this book is torture porn. This is my literal top pet peeve in literature, and I'm finding this really difficult to read and uncomfortable. Not in a not-good way. Little to no character development, mostly just meditation on the character's former life and there is actually no plot.......more

“I’m not angry about being here. I’m not even angry it happened. Mostly, I’m just angry that it could. That is keeps happening.” This book made me sad and also so fucking angry. But it ends on a hopeful note and the writing was beautiful. Set up like The Lovely Bones, Ellie Frias is raped and kille......more
