I actually read this book out of order. There is a book that comes before it called A Cold Dark Place. However, both books were awesome and I think you could read them both as stand alones without getting confused. I'm a huge fan of Gregg Olsen's True Crime books, and the skills he brings to nonfiction are on ample display in his fictional work. He writes with a depth and compassion that is rare in either field. This are not your typical, scenery chewing serial killer book. Highly recommended.......more

It was good. Couldn't put it down. The only thing I didn't like was the graphic details of pets and other animals being killed. I get why it was done, to show how depraved the killer is, but didn't need to read the details.......more
