I really liked the twists in this, but there were elements that made the overall story not work as well as I’d have liked. It's hard to find thrilling mysteries for preteens that involve murder or harder crimes than petty thievery but that are age appropriate (not gruesome, don't contain graphic violence or sexual content, etc.).
