Sofia Quintero is a hip hop activist, writer, and speaker in New York City. She holds a master’s degree from Columbia University and has worked with many social justice organizations throughout the country. She is also a screenwriter who has won recognition for her work. She still lives in the Bronx where she was born and raised and enjoys working with youth to find their voice through art and politics.

About Honey Jones

Honey Jones is originally from Baltimore, Maryland, and currently resides in New York City. She is an actress, acting coach, and teaching artist in all five boroughs of the New York City school system. Her credits are extensive in regional theater, and she has also done soap and episodic work. She holds a BFA from Howard University and an MFA from Penn State University.

I think the reference to Wu-Tang caught my eye on this one & made me pick it up. It was an interesting read. Very different than what I normally read, but sometimes it's good to mix up reading choices. I do remember talking with a slang for a few hours after finishing the book. haha!......more

WHERE DID MY REVIEW GO ? this was a really fun book. The audiobook was bad because the reader couldn’t speak Spanish and there are a lot of random Spanish phrases. But I thought this was a well-written, fast-paced read. I read it with my kid who had to read this for a class on women in hip hop. I lo......more
