Synopsis

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Jack Reacher will make three stops today. Not all of them were planned for. The “blockbuster” (Esquire) new Jack Reacher thriller from #1 New York Times bestselling authors Lee Child and Andrew Child, featuring “the best villain yet” (USA Today)!

Don’t miss the hit streaming series Reacher!

First—a Baltimore coffee shop. A seat in the corner, facing the door. Black coffee, two refills, no messing around. A minor interruption from two of the customers, but nothing he can’t deal with swiftly. As he leaves, a young guy brushes against him in the doorway. Instinctively Reacher checks the pocket holding his cash and passport. There’s no problem. Nothing is missing.

Second—a store to buy a coat. Nothing fancy. Something he can ditch when he heads to warmer climates. Large enough to fit a man the size of a bank vault. As he pulls out his cash, he finds something new in his pocket. A handwritten note. A desperate plea for help.

Third—wherever this bend in the road takes him. Impressed by the guy’s technique and intrigued by the message, Reacher makes it his mission to find out more . . .

About Lee Child

English Author Jim Grant (Pen Name) “Lee Child”, was born in 1954 in Coventry, England UK. His most notable writings are the Jack Reacher series novels. Beginning with his first novel, Killing Floor, each of his work follows a former American military policeman, Jack Reacher who wanders throughout the United States.

Grant (Child) studied law at the University of Sheffield, but knew he had no intention of practicing law. After graduating, he worked in commercial television. He worked in that venue until 1995. A fun fact is that he chose Reacher for his main characters name, because he himself is tall and his wife once said, “If this “writing thing” does not work out, you could always be a Reacher in a supermarket.” Grant (Child) describes his books as revenge stories-“somebody does a very bad thing, and Reacher takes revenge.” In 2012, his novel “One Shot”, was adapted into a film called “Jack Reacher”, starring Tom Cruise.

4⭐ – Reacher’s Still Got It! The last few Andrew/Lee Child books have been a bit hit or miss for me, but never bad. Exit Strategy really pulled me back in—it’s sharp, fast-paced, and has Reacher feeling like his classic self again. The story’s tight, the action hits just right, and I tore through it......more

As a long-time fan of Lee Child’s Jack Reacher novels, I always look forward to diving into a new installment, and Exit Strategy certainly had all the ingredients of a great Reacher story — a gritty setup, high stakes, and Reacher’s trademark no-nonsense approach to justice. Unfortunately, while it’......more

A case of mistaken identity sees Reacher's coffee break interrupted by someone setting up a late night meeting which piques his interest. Blackmail and a secretive smuggling operation are only the start of the problem. An excellent first act, with some fun - if somewhat brutal - set pieces get reader......more

Quotes

“Thirty books in, and Reacher is still as sharp, relevant, and unstoppable as ever. What I love most about him is that mix of simplicity and strength—he’s a man who lives by his own code, never afraid to throw a punch when it’s called for, and he doesn’t wait around for backup—he just gets the job done. It’s an honor to help bring this iconic character to life on screen while the books keep thrilling readers around the world.”—Alan Ritchson, star of REACHER on Prime Video, in People

“The Reacher books are an art form unto themselves . . . [Child] trusts his story and his character—and he trusts us, the reader—and every chapter of the book is its own adventure. . . . Now, with Exit Strategy, we have the 30th Jack Reacher thriller, and it’s a blockbuster.”Esquire
