Synopsis

Kyle Tait, having survived the harrowing, cross-country journey home to his family, must now struggle for existence in a post-EMP world that no one could have imagined just three short months prior. Each day brings new challenges—how to fight the bitter cold, where to scavenge food for the table, and how to best fend off intruders and keep their community safe.

As the cold, dark days of winter begin the slow transition to spring, the Tait family is faced with a challenge that dwarfs all others and threatens to shatter their already precarious grip on sanity. Kyle and Jennifer are once again forced to endure a trial that threatens the survival of each member of their family.

Follow Kyle, Jennifer, and the citizens of Deer Creek, Montana, as they plumb the depths of their resourcefulness, strength, endurance, and humanity while struggling together to survive the daunting days of winter.

Reviews

Goodreads review by Frank

Damn I love this story, I really hope the author decides to write a 3rd in the series. All the action scenes were pretty realistic and not over the top like in some books. Everything that happened I envisioned could really happen. Great post-apocalyptic story. Read Book 1 first, 77 Days in September......more

Goodreads review by Debby

If you liked 77 Days in September, you'll want to read Daunting Days of Winter. It begins where 77 Days... left off. Will take you through the gamut emotionally and intellectually as Mr. Gorham has thought of everything! There will be "aha, I didn't think of that" moments and moments where you wish......more

Not as good as 77 days in September but still a satisfying sequel. This book seemed to show a lot more of the writers personal bias. There was some commentary on "the gays" and the military that I did not feel was necessary to the plot, more the authors desire to share some of his personal opinions.......more
