About C.H. Spurgeon

C. H. Spurgeon (1834–1892) served for thirty years as preacher and pastor of London’s six-thousand-seat Metropolitan Tabernacle, which his growing congregation opened in 1861. His writings, including thousands of sermons, are still popular with pastors and devotional readers.

Christopher Glyn trained as a stage actor at the Rose Bruford School of Speech and Drama in the United Kingdom. After receiving Jesus, he forsook a career as a Shakespearean actor to devote his life to missionary work, with a personal calling to minister through radio. In the thirty-plus years since, Chris’ inspirational radio shows have been heard on over two thousand radio stations on all seven continents. So much goodness to be gleaned from these two volumes. I didn't enjoy the second as much as the first, perhaps because it was more focused more on his professional ministry and less on his personal life (and WE NEEDED AN EPILOGUE - ending on his funeral, just, 😭) But still, wow. Definitely a worthwh......more
