Synopsis

Appearances. . .A sad, strange coincidence. . .that's Dr. Kacey Lambert's initial response to the deaths of two women who bear an uncanny resemblance to herself. It's not like there was any real connection between Kacey and the B-movie actress or the elementary school teacher. But Detective Selena Alvarez suspects otherwise. Can Be. . .One of the bodies contained traces of poison at the time of death. Selena and her partner, Detective Regan Pescoli, can find no motive for murder. But Kacey has started to notice ties between the dead women's lives and her own--all close in age, born within miles of each other. And all have links to Trace O'Halleran, the man Kacey just started dating. Deadly. . .The deeper Kacey digs, the more reason she has to fear. More look-alikes are dying, and the killer is getting bolder and more brutal. And Kacey knows it's only a matter of time before hers is the next name on a list of those who were born to die. . .

About Lisa Jackson

Born in Oregon in 1952, American author, Lisa Jackson, began her career in 1983 with her book, The Twist of Fate, and is still presently writing. She is a number one author on The New York Times bestselling list, writing more than 85 published novels. (She also uses the pseudonym of Susan Lynn Crose.)

As with many authors, Lisa began writing when she was a struggling mother, out of necessity to put food on the table. At that time, she probably did not realize that she would end up with a writing career putting her neck deep in romantic, murder mysteries. Lisa is best known for taking her readers to "the edge of sanity...... and back". Dangerous secrets, deadly passions, lies, clues, personal relationships.......all intertwined to create the terror and madness that can exist in the world.

Lisa is now a typical spoiling grandmother who loves her grandchildren and her little pug dog named Jackie-O-No. She loves old rock and roll, pop, and new country music. She leads a pretty quiet, fulfilling life in her native state of Oregon.......time with family, walks with her sister (also an author), coffee, crossword puzzles and great TV.

Reviews

A promising start but I soon got bogged down in stuff that didn't drive the story forward. I was confused. Was the doctor the main character, or was it the female detectives? It made sense to have backstory for the doctor, it was necessary to the plot, but I'm at a loss to understand why we needed t......more

This is book 3 in the Alvarez & Pescoli series and maybe not having read the previous two is why I thought this book was hard to get into (but I don’t really think so). The book alternates perspectives which I do typically enjoy a lot, but there were so many characters telling the story and each of......more

This book started out good, it roped me in. All these women are dying in mysterious ways that look like accidents but both detectives on the Grizzly Falls police force seem to think different. It seems that all these women dying have a common factor... they all look alike. So much alike that they co......more
