Synopsis

Has the final countdown to the end days begun? Are the heavens telling us we are nearing the end? Astronomers have noticed it is coming. Historians have noted its significance. In 2014 and 2015, there will be a phenomenon in the skies of four blood moons falling during Jewish feasts. This has only happened three times in recorded history: 1493-94, 1949-50 and 1967-68. Each time these dates have had extraordinary significance for the Israelites. From the discovery of the New World to the creation of modern-day Israel, these years of the four blood moons have truly been turning points in history. Bible prophecy describes the moon being darkened and turned to blood. What is the significance of these signs in the skies? What will the future bring? Prophecy expert Mark Hitchcock guides you through the relevant Bible passages so you can understand the times in which you live.

I picked this book up only because it is part of Tyndale's summer reading program, and my library had it. I didn't think I'd actually end up reading it, to be honest, but I checked it out, looked it over, and did get started. I don't love reading about Biblical Prophecy, particularly all the end time......more

In 2014 and 2015 we will experience lunar events which are drawing the attention of many people. There will be four occasions in which a blood moon (which is a full lunar eclipse in which the moon turns an orange or red color) will occur on the same date as a Jewish feast. This series of four blood......more

I read this book a bit after the fact since it deals with rebutting the belief that blood moons appearing in 2014/2015 means something is going to happen regarding end times, Israel, and/or the United States. However, I did think it was good to read to help enforce the point of looking at the verses......more

My thoughts: When I first saw Blood Moons Rising offered as a book to review, I really thought it was an end-time novel. I had never heard about the blood moons, though I had heard about the moon turning to blood as an end sign. But I am neither a theologian nor a Biblical scholar and am not even we......more
