Synopsis

Every seven years, on the seventh day of the seventh month, strange things happen. It began when three young boys - Caleb, Fox, and Gage - went on a camping trip to the Pagan Stone. And twenty-one years later, it will end in a showdown between evil and the boys who have become men - and the women who love them… This modern-day legend draws reporter and author Quinn Black to Hawkins Hollow with the hope of making the eerie happening the subject of her new book. It is only February, but Caleb Hawkins, descendent of the town founders, has already seen and felt the stirrings of evil. Though he can never forget the beginning of the terror in the woods twenty-one years ago, the signs have never been this strong before. Cal will need the help of his best friends, Fox and Gage, but surprisingly he must rely on Quinn as well. She, too, can see the evil that the locals cannot, somehow connecting her to the town – and to Cal. As winter turns to spring, Cal and Quinn will shed their inhibitions, surrendering to a growing desire. They will form the cornerstone of a group of men and women bound by fate, passion, and the fight against what is to come from out of the darkness…

Author Bio

Author, Nora Roberts was born Eleanor Marie Robertson, on October 10, 1950 in Silver Spring, Maryland. For more than three decades Roberts has published more than 200 titles in the romantic novel category. She wrote her first story during the blizzard of 1979, when she was snowed in at her home. The first novel, Irish Thoroughbred, was published just two years later. Then, the next two years brought 23 more published novels, and she finally caught the public's eye in 1985. That last novel, "Playing the Odds" gave Roberts a "fan favorite" status and transformed the romance novel category.

Roberts has two sons by her first marriage, and married her second husband, Bruce Wilder, in 1985. From 1991 to 2001, all 68 novels she published made it onto the New York Times best seller list. In 2000 alone she had 13 best sellers, several making it into number one. She also writes futuristic romantic suspense under the pen name of J.D. Robb. Many of her novels have been adapted into TV movies. She was inducted into the Romance Writers of America Hall of Fame on 1986. She currently owns the Inn at BoonsBoro in Boonsboro, Maryland. The suites are each inspired by and for romantic couples from books. FYI......she has a fear of flying and is an ardent baseball fan.

I found this book to be an interesting mixture of romance and the supernatural. She set up the telling of the other two books quite nicely. Read it in one day.

Wonderful read but a bit scary. Looking forward to next two books, especially the second in the trilogy The Hollow which is Fox and Layla's story.

I wondered if Nora would be able to top her last trilogy, and she comes mighty close with this new one. The story of three young boys who unleash this deadly, menancing, evil force, and how they've dealt with it for the past 21 years is very interesting as well as the three newcomers who seem to have the key in helping them save the Hallow. I am very much looking forward to the next book in this trilogy, only the wait might be just too long.

Good story, or the beginning of one. Given that it's a sequel, I guess that the ending would need to leave you hanging a little, but this one seemed a little awkard compared to Nora Roberts other sequels. I'm a huge fan, so I'm waiting anxiously for the next book due in May.

I really loved this story. The characters are very well developed and the supernatural/love story plot flows very well. I couldn't put this book down! I had just about stopped reading Nora Roberts, starting to find her books trite and repetitive, but I am a believer again. She sets up the rest of the trilogy in a good way. You are left hanging about the supernatural part, but not about the relationship. The 2nd book is even better, read it this weekend.
