Originally released as vinyl records, these expertly abridged and remastered stories are now available to download for the first time. A beautiful horse grows from a young foal into a working cab-puller, journeying from the fields where he was born to the streets of London. This charming family favourite about kindness and empathy is narrated by journalist and presenter, Angela Rippon.

Author Bio

Anna Sewell (1820–1878) was born in England and, after a fall, was crippled at a young age. As a result, she spent a great deal of time riding in horse-drawn carriages, which led to the development of a deep concern for the proper treatment of animals. Black Beauty, Sewell's only publication, was written entirely in the last decade of her life, when she was confined to her house.
