Synopsis

In Bertie's Box, a family sits around the table putting the finishing touches on their Christmas present wrapping. A letter arrives from a poor widow asking for assistance in providing a Christmas present for her two children. Overhearing this, young Bertie sets about packing up some of his toys to send to the unfortunate mother.

Susie Berneis is a versatile voiceover artist with numerous narration credits to her name. She has an ear for dialect and a love for the process of developing characters, which has been cultivated through her twenty-plus years of experience as a community and regional stage actress. Have to admit, this one had me tearing up. I'm an old softy, I know. Someone wrote a letter to a family, explaining how down and out they were this Christmas and asking if they could just spare some things for the kids, because this mother, a far off relation I believe, didn't have the heart to see......more
