This has become one of my favorite biographies. The author told the story as if we hadn’t heard parts of it before. She effortlessly balanced Anne’s lovely traits with her flaws, which ultimately stemmed from the horrible loss of her firstborn son. Highly recommended!......more

It started off really strong and I wanted to give it 4 stars but it seemed to drag on a bit about the pre-WWII politics. But a good read and I found her to be a much more complex person than I'd before imagined. "Gift From the Sea" is still one of my favorite books.......more
