Synopsis

A thrilling return to the #1 New York Times bestselling urban fantasy series, continuing Rachel Morgan's story.

RACHEL MORGAN IS BACK--AND THE HOLLOWS WILL NEVER BE THE SAME.

What happens after you've saved the world? Well, if you're Rachel Mariana Morgan, witch-born demon, you quickly discover that something might have gone just a little bit wrong. That the very same acts you and your friends took to forge new powers may have released something bound by the old. With a rash of zombies, some strange new murders, and an exceedingly mysterious new demon in town, it will take everything Rachel has to counter this new threat to the world--and it may demand the sacrifice of what she holds most dear.

About Kim Harrison

American born author, Kim Harrison, has tried different genres, but has settled into graphic and traditional fantasy novels. Her given name is Dawn Cook, and she did publish traditional fantasy under that name. Her #1 New York Times best-selling Hollow series is Harrison's most famous and most lucrative work. Her urban fantasy is best known, but she has also written young adult, accelerated science fiction thriller, anthology, full-color world book, and two graphic novels set in the Hollows universe.

Under her pen name of Dawn Cook, Harrison wrote Decoy Princess and Truth series. The main character, Rachel Morgan, is in an urban fantasy genre where there is a worldwide pandemic caused by genetically modified tomatoes. The pandemic causes the death of much of the world's population. This novel was published in the early years of the 21st century. Harrison's newest novel is American Demon.

Harrison was born and raised in the Midwest. She considers herself a "tomboy", having been the only girl in a family of boys. She has another unusual attribute for an author......she avoided all English classes, except those required in high school. Pretty unorthodox for a very successful author. She now resides in her home state of Michigan.

Great Hollows Re-read 4/25/21: Now, I just read this book last year, but it still deserves a good re-read on the heels of the rest of the series. And frankly? It works as well as the rest of the series -- which is to say, it's fun as hell and exciting and unfair and delicious and heartbreaking all ove......more

Rachel Morgan is back from the book graveyard. The series was done, and then two more books pop up. I hated this one, Harrison. All the characters we love and make this series good were mostly absent. We spent the majority of the book listening to Rachel whine and doubt herself. I mean, after 14 boo......more

It was fantastic to be reading about "itchy witch" again. Going back to this world after six years made me savor it more. When the book begins Rachel is on the phone planning a park date with Trent, the girls and surprisingly, Ellasbeth too. Rachel is back at her old home/church. She is meeting J......more

[4.5/5 stars] If you can just mentally delete the epilogue that ended the series at book #13, American Demon is a fantastic continuation to the Hollows series. I kind of like that American Demon is an (initially) unplanned continuation because otherwise the series might have felt too drawn out. Now i......more

It’s been a while since I read The Witch With No Name. Long enough that I was worried I would have a hard time jumping back into this world. It’s a complicated one but one I loved dearly and invested in fully for many years. I even considered a full series reread of the Hollows. It would not have be......more
