Synopsis

Myth-Busting the Father of Lies

Despite growing secularization, our culture still pays a lot of attention to the devil. He shows up everywhere from movies to music and is blamed for all sorts of crimes, natural disasters, and the policies of politicians we don't like. Yet in the Bible, Satan is barely present, barely speaks, and is subject to God's authority. So how has he gotten so much airtime in the lives of Christians and the wider culture?

Award-winning biographer Jared Brock sorts through the myths and misinformation about the devil, revealing a biblical adversary we need to know, including

● his real name, home, and life story—past, present, and apocalyptic future

● his actual powers—and lack of power

● how to spot, avoid, and overcome his tests, tricks, and tactics

When we have a biblical understanding of our adversary, we'll see new and deeper ways to follow Jesus, grasp our role in His epic story, and find hope in Christ's absolute authority over all things.

Then the last chapter is the most egregious example of dispensationalist nonsense I’ve read in a long time. It’s “Left Behind” levels of bad. Why Jared? Why? Why did you have to eying this book?
