Synopsis

New York Times bestselling author Kellerman delivers a riveting collection of 14 crime and mystery short stories--plus four bonus tales--compiled for the first time in one volume.
THE GARDEN OF EDEN AND OTHER CRIMINAL DELIGHTS marks the highly anticipated return of Peter Decker and Rina Lazarus in three neverbefore- published short mysteries, including "The Garden of Eden," where Peter and Rina investigate the death of a neighbor. The volume also contains two other Decker-Lazarus short mysteries: "Bull's Eye," introducing Cindy Decker, who works with her father to find the killer of a police academy instructor; and "A Woman of Mystery," in which Rina and Peter solve the mystery of a student with amnesia. The nine remaining tales are classic Kellerman, and include "Mummy and Jack," cowritten with her son, Jesse. With two bonus stories and two personal essays drawn from Faye's personal life, this book is a must-have for all Kellerman fans and crime fiction enthusiasts alike.

About Faye Kellerman

Mystery author, Faye Kellerman, not only writes amazing, best-selling mysteries, but is married to famous author, Jonathan Kellerman. The pair of authors is the only married couple to have been on The New York Times best seller list at the same time. An awesome accomplishment for sure. And, to make it even better, their oldest child, Jesse Kellerman is a best-selling novelist and award winning playwright. Their youngest, a daughter, Aliza Kellerman, co-wrote Prism, a novel for young adults, with her mother. Keeping it in the family.

Faye Kellerman's early history is a very interesting one. She actually received a B.A. in mathematics, and then earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery. Even though she fully intended to be a dentist, she never practiced even one day in the dental profession. She first became a housewife and mother, then developed her writing career.

Faye Kellerman has well over twenty million copies of her novels in circulation. The Decker/Lazarus thrillers are among her most successful works. They include such titles as: Sacred and Profane; Milk and Honey; Day of Atonement; Justice; Prayers for the Dead, and many others. She has also received awards for her collection of short stories. As if all that writing and creating were not enough, she also has hobbies of gardening, sewing, and jogging. She has four children, and lives in Los Angeles and Santa Fe.

Upon being asked how an educated Dentist becomes an accomplished, award winning author, she said it was... a desire for justice, a suspicious nature, an overactive imagination, and of course, a penchant for the bizarre.

I've read a few short stories collections over the years and have never really enjoyed them as a whole. I usually find myself picking out a tale or two that I enjoyed and wonder why the other stories couldn't have been as good. With Faye Kellerman's collection Garden of Eden, I didn't find myself do......more

I am not a big fan of the short story. Like other collections this book had some decent stories and some that weren't so great. The ration of not-so-great to readable was too high for my taste. The stories at the end of this book were actually recounting of event in her own life, not mysteries at al......more

As I was reading this book there were some stories that I really enjoyed the mystery aspect and some others I really didn’t like. Take for instance the story of the old man getting a pit bull and naming him man eater, I didn’t care for that story at all. The one of the mule and a mob boss hiring a h......more

A collection of short stories some funny... some bizarre... some involving murder... some about family... 1. The Garden of Eden ~ this explains how Rina had inherited a number of paintings that mostly took care of the Deckers' travels and vacations to not too shabby places. 2. Open House ~ the naked b......more
