I finished this on the train. I almost missed my stop because I was on the last two pages and wouldn't -couldn't!- stop reading. As much as it pains me to say this, being such a huge fan of The Wheel of Osheim (Mark Lawrence) and Red Tide (Marc Turner), I have to admit that Hope and Red is the greatest read of 2016, and one of the best books I have read in my life. Really enjoyed this. It starts out as a fairly familiar story of 2 orphans raised in very different circumstances and destined to meet eventually.
