William R. Forstchen is the New York Times bestselling author of One Second After, One Year After, and The Final Day. He holds a PhD in history from Purdue University, with specializations in military history and the history of technology. Forstchen is currently a faculty fellow and professor of history at Montreat College, near Asheville, North Carolina.

I am a solar physicist working in that lab at NASA Goddard. I wish the author would have had one of us (or the numerous others around the world) take a read of the preprint and suggest some corrections. None of it would’ve affected the plot or characters. I’ll be honest. The writing in this novel leaves a lot to be desired. Sentences structures are clunky and awkward, the rules of grammar poorly executed or ignored.
