Phoebe, a graphic artist in her thirties, has come to loathe her boss. To distract herself from being in her presence, Phoebe turns to her go-to workplace coping strategy: dreaming up sexual fantasies between her and a superior. When she later recounts this practice to her therapist, Phoebe is drawn back through her work history and the various fantasies she has concocted over the years. But will these escapades remain forever contained in the realm of Phoebe’s imagination?A few days after dreaming up a sexual fantasy with her boss, Phoebe attends her biweekly therapy session. After Phoebe vents about how much extra work she’s been pushed to take on, her therapist asks how she has been coping with the added stress. Upon revealing her sexual imaginings, the conversation spurs Phoebe’s memory of the first time she dreamed of sleeping with a villainous boss for catharsis. At the time, over a decade ago now, Phoebe was working as a server in a restaurant. The floor manager, for reasons she could never figure out, had something against her. Feeling powerless to leave behind the excellent tip money, Phoebe decides to create another, more pleasurable reality, to inhabit.
