Synopsis

A classic historical romance novel from New York Times bestseller Lisa Kleypas (“One of today’s leading lights in romantic fiction” —Seattle Times), Because You’re Mine is a breathtaking tale of romantic intrigues and uncontained passions that showcases this acclaimed author at her very best.“I don’t care about your conscience. All I want is for you to kiss me again.”Lady Madeline Matthews would rather shame herself than sacrifice her freedom. To avoid marrying an aging, lecherous lord, she seeks out the company of Logan Scott, for a torrid affair with the notorious womanizer would surely condemn her in the eyes of good society. In truth, Logan is an intensely private man tormentedby past betrayals. Now a forward little minx, completely at sea in London’s sophisticated whirl, is disruptinghis life with her vibrant charm and unspoiled beauty. But when what begins with a kiss threatens to blossom into something more rapturous and real, will Logan and Madeline have the courage to drop the masks they hide behind in the name of love?

Author Bio

Lisa Kleypas, an American author, was born in 1964, and chose the genre of Historical Romantic Novels to begin her writing career. Even when her and her mother's Texas homes were taken by a devastating flood, they both went to buy the necessities, and for both of them that included a romance novel. After her graduation from Wellesley College in Political Science, Lisa published her first book at age 21. She has been very successful writing for Avon Books with her representative being the prestigious William Morris Agency.

Lisa has been writing full time since selling that first book at 21 years of age. She has sold millions of copies around the world, and has won many writing achievement awards over the years. One non-writing achievement came when she was Miss Massachusetts in the Miss America Pageant in 1985. At only 5'2", it was a challenge to wear a banner on which was printed one of the longest state names. She did win a "talented non-finalist" award for singing an original song.

Lisa decided in 2006 to temporarily change her writing genre to contemporary romance, but she did say she plans to return to historical romance in the future. Her list of published books keeps growing, with her 2012 book, "Christmas Eve at Friday Harbor" being made into the Hallmark movie, "Christmas With Holly". In 2015, she was given the honor of emceeing the Romance Writers of America Award Show. Lisa lives in Washington with her husband, Gregory, and their two children.
